The OCAD SU 2023 Art Fair is the first of its kind, and is funded by the joint University and OCAD Student Union's Affordability Task Force, as a revenue-generating opportunity to alleviate the rising costs of living. The Art Fair will be a space for students to sell their own zines, prints, ceramics, jewellery, etc, and will take place on Thursday, November 2 from 4:00 – 8:00pm at the Great Hall and Lobby of 100 McCaul.
This call for submissions will not be a juried process, but will be assessed on a first-come first-served basis, prioritizing Black and Indigenous students who chose to self-identify, International Students, Disabled Students and Graduate Students. 60 students will be selected and each participant selected will receive an honorarium of $100.00. Every vendor will have half a table to be shared with another individual, determined by the OCAD Student Union.
Artists will be responsible to bring their own signage with pricing, social media/contact info, and forms of payment (eg. e-transfer, cash, square). The OCAD SU is not responsible for selling the work and will take no commission. Table cloths will be available to borrow on the day of the event, but folks can feel free to bring your own.
An Accessibility Fund (Max $100) is available for students who need special accommodations. A materials fund (Max $50) is also available to any student that needs it.
