Campaigns / Advocacy

As part of our effort to revitalize the OCAD Student Union and connect with the student body, the Campaigns and Advocacy Report for May 2025 to Nov 2025 is being made available here. This report condenses the work undertaken by the SU's Committee of Campaigns and Action, chaired by Ines Tang, Executive Director of Campaigns and Advocacy.In brief summary, this report outlines:

  • Advocating for students within the Faculty of Art regarding the new program proposal (merging INTM, PHOT, SCIN, PRPB).
  • Generative AI Policy Review: Ongoing survey for student opinions on GenAI in the arts and at OCAD U.
  • Course Curriculum & Registration Review: Ongoing survey regarding specialization vs. interdisciplinary education, as well as revamping the course registration system
  • Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario (CFS-O) activities, petitions, postcards, provincial government lobbying against Bill 33 and for more post-secondary funding.
  • Misc. initiatives and advocacy activities such as participation in rallies, research documents, info-zines, additional graphics and calls to action.
